Solo with transcription
Solar is a short, harmonically interesting tune, and Chet's solo is a classic example of melodic jazz improvisation: clear lines, a relaxed swing feel and a warm, lyrical sound.
Studying and playing along with transcribed solos is one of the best ways to learn the jazz language. Listen to the recording, play the solo with it, and then use the phrases you like in your own improvisation over the same chord changes.
